NAID Partakes in ‘Egypt Walk for Inclusion of PwD’

The National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities (NAID) participated in “Egypt Walk for the Inclusion of Persons with Disability (PwD),” that took place on December 18, at the foot of Egypt’s Great Pyramids.

The walk was organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in collaboration with the Egyptian Sports Federation for Intellectual Disabilities, and under the auspices of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.

The aim of the walk was to help raise awareness on the importance of Assistive Technology (AT) to the empowerment and independence of PwDs, as a new area of programs that UNDP is planning to pursue in Egypt, in line with the promise of the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development to leave no one behind.

Alongside a group of differently abled Egyptian athletes, the walk was joined by UNDP Goodwill Ambassador for Arab States, and a number of ministers including the Minister of Youth and Sports, the Minister of Social Solidarity, and the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, as well as NAID Chairman, representing the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT).
