NAID Organizes ‘R&D in AT for Deaf, Hard of Hearing’

The National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities (NAID) is organizing a webinar titled “Research and Development (R&D) in the field of Assistive Technologies (AT) for the deaf and hard of hearing” on May 6.

The webinar is one in a series of activities organized within the awareness program on AT that NAID launched to support and empower PwDs, under the theme “Ideas by exceptional abilities.”

A group of experts and distinguished speakers are participating in the webinar. It targets deaf and hard of hearing people, developers, entrepreneurs and those who have ideas of innovative AT for the deaf and hard of hearing.
The webinar is the second activity organized on the occasion of the Arab Deaf Week. The aim is to raise awareness on AT for the deaf and hard of hearing, and keep the audience updated with the current R&D efforts in that field, as well as to motivate innovators and researchers to work on projects that can support such community. The webinar, in addition, will present examples of successful AT, developed by deaf and hard of hearing persons.

Established in 2018, NAID is an affiliated organization to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). NAID mandate is to empower PwDs and support their inclusion in the society.
