NAID Organizes ‘Assistive Technologies, Healthy Eating Habits for People with Down Syndrome’ Webinar

The National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities (NAID) is organizing a webinar titled “Assistive technologies and healthy eating habits for people with Down syndrome,” on March 24.

The webinar is one in a series of events organized as part of the awareness program on assistive technology that NAID launched to support and empower PwDs, under the theme “Ideas by exceptional abilities.”

A group of Down syndrome experts from the civil society, research institutes, and families of people with Down syndrome are participating in the webinar. The webinar targets PwDs and their caregivers, special education teachers, and researchers in assistive technology uses.

The webinar aims to raise awareness of Down syndrome in terms of the challenges and available opportunities. It will discuss the common misinformation about Down syndrome and help direct parents and caregivers towards the best ways and assistive technologies that help create a better life for people with Down syndrome. In addition, the webinar will shed light on the healthy eating habits and their effect on people with Down syndrome, as well as how to empower and include those people into the society.

Established in 2018, NAID is an affiliated organization to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). NAID mandate is to empower PwDs and support their inclusion in the society.
