The National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities (NAID) is organizing a webinar titled “Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the Role of Assistive Technology (AT),” on June 1. The webinar is one in a series of activities organized within the awareness program on AT that NAID launched to support and empower PwDs, under the theme “Ideas by exceptional abilities.”
A group of experts and distinguished speakers are participating in the webinar. It targets people with ASD, caregivers, developers, entrepreneurs, and those who have innovations in ASD-related AT, as well as interested people and stakeholders.
The webinar aims to raise awareness of ASD in terms of diagnosis, common mistakes, and the role of education in developing the capabilities of children with ASD. The webinar will also discuss the role of technology in improving communication for people with ASD and the importance of inclusion at different educational stages in developing those children’s skills.
Established in 2018, NAID is an affiliated organization to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). NAID mandate is to empower PwDs and support their inclusion in the society.
