Relay Center for Persons with Disabilities launched a service to respond to inquiries about the Corona virus "COVID-19" for the deaf and hard of hearing through the mobile application "Wasel" 24 hours a day and to support those who have symptoms of the disease related to the virus in reaching the relevant authorities in the country to provide health services.
 
This was directed by Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology towards the continuity of work in providing communications and information technology services to citizens with a commitment to implement the state's plan to limit the spread of the new Corona virus, and in light of the strategy of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in using technology for an inclusive society for all its categories
 
Dr. Amr Talaat emphasized that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is working to provide support in all its forms to citizens by activating smart technological technologies and providing trained technical personnel to provide services efficiently.
 
The minister pointed out that the service to respond to inquiries regarding the emerging corona virus for the deaf and hard of hearing is one of the ministry's activities to reach all segments of society and provide technical support services to face the crisis and preserve the safety of citizens.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology had launched the Technical Center for Persons with Disabilities at the Cairo International Conference and Exhibition for Communications and Information Technology 2019 in implementation of the presidential initiative to integrate and empower persons with disabilities through communications and information technology, and the center is one of the unique institutions of its kind in the Arab region and the east The Middle East and Africa, where it provides integrated technological solutions, as a contact center that acts as a medium to enable people with hearing and speech disabilities to communicate by phone with emergency services such as ambulance, rescue, fire truck.
